About Another Country
Another Country was born in January 2005, to provide a showcase for the talents of four Nottingham artists, and make their work accessible to buy online.
All our artists are established in their professions:
Neville Smith has exhibited all over world; Carole Hawthorne has exhibited all over the UK; Nick Dunmur is a professional photographer in Nottingham and Peter Grubb runs a successful Nottingham based Design Agency.
Become a part of Another Country
We are always on the lookout for more Nottingham based artists to become part of the Another Country online gallery. If you think you would like to join us, please email Peter Grubb at info@anothercountry.biz The only criteria are that you are an artist living in Nottingham and have 10 quality pieces of work to show.
Another Country is marketed online to contemporary art shops, contemporary furniture stores, institutions, and interior designers; it's therefore a great opportunity to exhibit to professional art buyers as well as the general public.
Footnote
'Another Country' is the 1984 film starring Rupert Everert loosely based on the life of Guy Burgess. Burgess was a key figure in the Cambridge Spy Ring of the 1940's who eventually defected to Russia in 1951. The upper class establishment refused to believe he was a spy because he had been to public school.
The words 'Another Country' come from the very English hymn 'I vow to Thee my Country'; which was sung at the funeral of Princess Diana in 1997. Words by Cecil A. Spring-Rice, 1918 and the music of which was written by Gustav Holst in 1921.
